The results from the residential rezoning has been released by the commissioners rejecting the application, however the sole reason for their decision is due to the lack of access. Though this decision is not ideal for the future beneficial owners the submitter is likely to appeal the decision.
The outcome of the hearings highlights the issue surrounding the lack of access raising major concerns for OTS, QLDC and Ngai Tahu questioning how a property losses access in this day and age.

A strong consultancy team attended the hearings at Edgewater Resort in Wanaka on the 14 June presenting final evidence in support of the residential rezoning of 20 hectares. The leadership of Dean Chrystal and Pru Stevens reflected the quality of the submission and subsequent "kone te kone" hearings with the commissioners,
A key component that might impact on the result stems around the lack of "legal access' to the site in respect to a residential subdivision and removal of trees from the site.
The decision now lies in the hands of Commissioners and a decision is due early 2018.
Team included:
Lead Planner – Dean Chrystal, Chch
Legal Council - Pru Stevens, Chch
Landscape – William Field, Chch
Traffic – Andrew Metherall, Chch
Engineer – John McCartney, Queenstown
Recreational – Rob Greenaway, Neslon
Market Research – Natalie Hampson, Wanaka
